What does human-verified actually mean?

Our research team verifies and adds new grants to the website five days a week. Daily Database Updates: New grant opportunities are researched, verified, categorized, and added to the platform on a daily basis. Where a funder publishes a citable source, the listing carries the record of that check.

03 — Pipeline

How does a listing get verified?

A listing becomes a GrantWatch record in five steps. A research analyst reads the opportunity against the funder's own posting, compares applicant type, geography and closing date, signs the record, and publishes it with the date on which it was checked.

The full standard, field by field, is published on the methodology page. How we verify.

GW-01 — How a listing gets verified A five-step vertical sequence: opportunity intake, primary-source check against the funder's own posting, eligibility and deadline cross-check, analyst sign-off, then publication carrying the date it was checked. Needs client material — FIG. GW-01 workflow steps 3 and 4

Steps 1, 2 and 5 trace to inventory facts f053 and f060. Steps 3 (eligibility and deadline cross-check) and 4 (analyst sign-off) describe the workflow as specified in the brief and must be confirmed against the real editorial process before this figure locks. A schematic of an invented workflow is a fabricated fact in drawing form.

04 — Coverage

What is actually in the index?

Roughly 70% of our directory comprises of grants from private foundations, public foundations, corporations and charities. The remaining 30% of grants found are from local, state, and federal government funding sources.

By where

Geographic pages are listed here as their live verified count and regional funder roster are confirmed. A geography with nothing behind it is not published.

Needs client material — Geographic index

The "by where" column renders links only for geographies that pass their tier of the §4.5 gate and are indexable. Two client-engineering answers are required before any geography publishes as a link: (1) is funder identity a normalized entity rather than free text, and (2) is geography a structured field at state granularity. Per-state editorial records are a separate content deliverable, top ten states first.

05 — The fee

Grants are free to apply for. So what am I paying for?

Grants themselves are free to apply for via official government portals; GrantWatch charges solely for search database features.

We provide a service, saving you endless hours of research, time, and stress! You can search for grants on your own for free, but many organizations prefer to pay for the convenience of having them all in one place! We specialize in listing grants from foundations that aren't publicly available.

Grants.gov, your state grants portal and every funder's own website are free and stay free. The subscription pays for the search layer over them and for the verification record attached to each listing.

FIG. GW-04 — What the fee buys, and what it does not A two-part boundary plate. The first part lists what is free and always free: applying to any grant, Grants.gov, state and city grant portals, and the funder's own website. The second part lists what a subscription covers: aggregation across the funding tiers, the human verification record, deadline tracking and alerts, and the search and filter layer. A hairline divides them and nothing crosses it. What other people say, and what we can check

GrantWatch has been a huge help in finding funding for the Town of Churubusco and various non-profit organizations in which I am involved. I think I have been a member since 2018 and I have found dozens of grants that we've been eligible for to assist in funding several projects throughout our community. I utilize GrantWatch so often for so many things, I had to create a grant board with available grants, due dates, and what I've applied for. GrantWatch has made my job as a grant writer much easier!

Needs client material — Testimonial consent

No consent statement appears anywhere in the crawl (f080). Written consent for the quote, the attribution and any photograph must be confirmed per testimonial before launch. Five of the nine published quotes are excluded from this build for dollar or percentage outcome claims, or for citing a price that matches no current plan.

Needs client material — Press wall

The "AS FEATURED ON" logo wall does not ship until the client confirms the placements are genuine editorial coverage rather than paid press-release distribution. Third-party logos also route through the image-rights checklist before use.
